Miss Blennerhassett has returned from her trip to Australia. Mrs Walker (Gonviile) has returned from Auckland. Mrs A. 0. Hardy has returned trom her visit to friends in Auckland. Mrs and Miss Scott, Wellington, are visiting friends in. Wanganui. Mrs H. H. Ostler, Kelburue, Wellington. who has been on a visit to' her mother, Mrs ;Jas. Duigan, Balgowme, returned homo last week. Miss O’Brien. Wanganui, has returned from her trip to Sydney. The Bev. J. D. and Mrs McKenzie have returned from Auckland and Rotorua. Tho New Zealand Swimming Association opened their championship meeting in the D.H.S. baths on Monday afternoon, when the various heats were swam off, and in the evening the seating accomgnodation was nothing like siAßcient. Beats were arranged for 2000, but there was nearer 3000 present. The secretary, Mr C. H. Nowoombe, and his committee, had all races, etc., off to time. The meeting lasts till Monday next. Among those present were Mr and Miss Gower. Mr and Mrs A. O. Hardy, Mr and Mrs Thomas, Mrs Patterson, Mr and Mrs Armstrong and Miss Armstrong, Mr and Miss E. Perritt. Mr and Mrs B. Mathieson, Mrs and Miss Russell, Mrs and Miss E. Comyns. Our town will be inundated with visitors during the whole of this month. Besides the ewinuhing sports, there is the Tiro Brigade Association Conference, which lasts over a week. Then wo have the Medical Conference towards the end of the month, also our big race meeting. And next month the United Bible Class Association hold their Easter camp here. The public echools opened on Monday, after the summer vacation. ■, Mrs Hastings Moore, Vho has been visiting friends in Wellington, returned home this week.
