RIFLE SHOOTING
KARO'RI CLUB. The following teams have been selected to represent the Karori Club in teams matches on Saturday next against tho Defence Staff Hill© Club and the Old Navals’ Rifle Club: Against the Staff Club—H. Marshall, J. Burns, J. C. Low, H. Bulford, N. Willoughby, J. C. Faulknor, A. I*. FolIdws, D. Olaridge, L. F. Grimstone, and R. Randell. Against the Old Navals’ Club—W. Judd, W. Chirnalde, H. V. Croxton, E. O. Lewer, J. E. Turner, George Tinney, H. Coker, W. Harris, A. Caldwell, and G. Jones. Reserves—J. J. Cassells, A. C. Maisey, J. Carney, A. Guise, T. P. Halpin, F. G. Skinner, R. Pringle, F. H. Morgan, J. B. Butler, and F. Lissington. A practice match at 300, 500, and 600 yards is being arranged for those members of the club who will not be firing in the teams matches. SUBURBS CLUB. The following aro the scores of the Wednesday squad of tho Suburbs Club, tired at Broadway range, Miramar:

To-morrow the club will continue its fourth series at 500 and TOO yards, ten shots at each range. A NEW TROPHY. The chairman of the New Zealand Kills Club’s executive, President H. Marshall (Karori Rifle Club), has received from ilr C. A. Whitney, of the Colonial Ammunition Co., Ltd., Auckland, a valuable trophy to bo awarded to the rifle clubman making the highest score in the “C.A.C." Cup match, at the next Trentham meeting. This event is the long range teams’ match. The trophy consists of a .303 Winchester sporting rifle, and 250 rounds of “C.A-C." soft-nose cart-
ridges. This further evidence of Mr Whitney’s generous support of rifle clubs will bo much appreciated by them, and should induce keen competition. The annual teams match between the Petono and Upper Unit defence rail© clubs will be fired at the Petoiie Clubs range at Waiwetu to-morrow. Ino Petono team will be as follows : W. Ballinger, A. Ballinger, Carter, McXlvncte, Gallien, Clout, Kyan, Ayson, ‘Kusseli, and McLaughlin. Emergencies—Glennie, Bird, Faulkner, and Warburton.
