BOWLING
MATCH BETWEEN NORTH AND BOOTH ISLAND CHAMPIONS. Special to tho "Times." : CHRISTCHURCH, February 6. At a gathering held to celebrate the winning of the South Island bowling championship by the United Bowling Club's rink, the president of tho club stated that amongst the numerous congratulations received by the club was one from the Wellington Bowling Club which at present was the holder of tno Worth Island bowling championship. Tho Wellington club suggested that a contest should be held between the North ahd South Island champions, to take place in Wellington, and to be the best Cwo of three games. The suggestion was agreed to heartily by the United Club, which welcomed the proposal, with the exception of the game being played out of Christchurch. The members ot the United Club’s rink, it was stated, could not get away from' business, and (t was suggested that tho game would be welcomed oii the green of the Christchurch Bowling Club. If the Wellington Club was agreeable the match would probably take place at the beginning of next month.
