OBITURRY
SIR GORDON SPRIGG. LONDON, February 4. The death is announced of Sir John Gordon Sprigg. The Right Hon. Sir John Gordon Sprigg was a son of the Rev. James Sprigg, M.A., of Ipswich, and was born in 1830. He settled in Cap© Colony in 1858, and entered the Colonial Parliament in 1869. He first became Prim© Minister and Colonial Secretary in 1878-81, Treasurer 1884-86, and subsequently filled those positions for many succeeding years.
