VIOLENT SUFFRAGETTES
WINDOW-BREAKING AND LETTER-BURNING. LONDON, February 4. A suffragette baa been arrested fo* breaking seven large shopwindows in Holborn. A pillar-box was burnt in Northumberland avenue, and a large number of letters destroyed. Margaret Morrison was fined £2O, or a month’s imprisonment, for throwing pepper at a constable at Leren. '.CARTRIDGES IN LETTER BOXES. RED PEPPER, WATER, AND MORE WINDOW-SMASHING. (Received February 6, 10.40 p.m-V LONDON, February 5. Four or five pinfire cartridges wer* dropped into a pillar-box in Portugal street. Newspapers prevented an explosion. Every member of tbe Cabinet yettterday received letters at the House of Commons filled with red pepper. Margaret Morrison threw pepper in a constable’s face ?.nd smashed twelve windows in the Police Court. Bhe also threw a bucket of water over » sergeant, and is now hunger-striking.
