NORTHERN TERRITORY
“ A WHITE MAN’S COUNTRY.” (Received February 5, 9.25 p.m.) MELBOURNE, February 5. Conflicting opinions have been formed of tho Northern Territory. Mr Williams, who has been visiting the territory on behalf of the Welsh settlers in Patagonia, reports that it is a white man’s country. The northern portion is within the monsoonal area, and is not subject to drought. He declares that never in the history of British colonisation have such inducements been offered to white settlers.
