COMPULSORY TRAINING
STATEMENT BY FEDERAL DEFENCE MINISTER. (Received February 5, 9.25 p.m.) MELBOURNE, February 6. Senator Pearce, Federal Defence Minister, says that the Federal authorities did not foresee that imprisonment could be inflicted under the State Act for the non-payment of fines in connection with the Commonwealth Compulsory Training Act. The matter has been referred to the AttorneyGeneral.
