NURSING THE SICK POOR

At a committee meeting of the District Nursing Guild of St- John the following were present: Mrs S. A. Rhodes, Lady of Grace of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Mrs W. H. S. Moorhouse. Miss M. E. Hobieson, Mrs A. A. Corrigan, Mrs J. P. Luke, and Mrs W. BEisher (hon. secretary). The president intimated that Lady Liverpool bad accepted the position, of patroness vacated by Lady Islington, and gratification was expressed in having her Excellency identified with the guild. The nursing report for the months of December and January was submitted by the senior nurse, and showed that seventeen additional patients had been registered, thirteen discharged, two sent to the general hospital, and one had died. Nurses Sexton and Macandrew paid 1114 visits to' tho sick poor in their own homes, and old linen, comforts, ojc., were received from sympathisers. Mesdames Balcomb© Brown and Tripe forwarded apologies for unavoidable absence.
