From Our Own Correspondent. February 6. A glbota Was cast over the township to-day when the hows of. Constable Doyle’s death was received. The deceased succumbed to injuries he received on Saturday night; Constable Doyle, who had been stationed here about two years, was a native of Soilthbtidge, Canterbury/ where his patents are living. He joined the force ill Auckland, and during the time he was stationed there he was marr.ed to Miss Williams. Sihcefe sympathy ia felt here for Mrs Doyle and family, who at the time of the occurrence Were Oh a visit to Auckland. . A garden party Will be held at.the vicarage to welcome Archdeacon and Mrs Gomins, who have lately arrived here. A team of Shannon bowlers will visit Levin oh Saturday to play for the Kinniburgh Feathers.
