WELSH CHURCH BILL
A NEW CLAUSE ADOPTED. (Received February 5, 0.45 a.m.) LONDON, February 4. The House of Commons, on the report stage of the Welsh Disestablishment Bill, adopted Mr McKenna’s new clause containing a scheme for the commutation of livings on a basis of 3} per cent. Mr Gladstone and others criticised the great risk of the Church being landed in a big loss, and suggested that the commutation bo calculated at 3 per cent.
