FIVE POUNDS OR 14 DAYS’ DETENTION. Press Association. NELSON, February 4. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day Robert L. Thompson, a senior cadet, charged with refusing to take tho oath of allegiance, was fined £5, in default fourteen days’ military detention. The father of the boy urged religious scruples against military training. The defendant had previously been fined for tho same offence.
