HUTT NO-LICENSE LEAGUE
ANNUAL MEETING. \ . —. The annual meeting of the Hutt No* License League was held in Wesley classroom, Nelson street, 'Petone, on Monday evening. The chair was occupied by Key, H. Cotton, president. There was a fair attendance of members. 'The secretary’s and treasurer's reports were read and adopted. The election of officers and com* mittecs resulted in the following : President, Rev. J. J. Lewis; vice-presidents. Revs. J. McCaw, B. H. Ginger, J. Gariick, Cottom, and Wainwright, Captain Charter, Mesdames Palden and Itowse, senr., Messrs J, W. McEwan, T. Waugh, J. J. Wood, W. J. Skinner, J. Gibbs, W. Alexander, Sykes, H. Jansen, T. Townsend and W. Hobbs; hon. secretary, Mr W. J. Wakelin; assistant secretary, Mr G. Blakeley (re-elected); treasurer, Mr H. Jansen; convener of committees (harmony), Mr A. E. Wright, (collecting), Mr G. Blakeley; executive committee. Mesdames Miller, Jansen and Corner, Misses Carten and J. Knight. Messrs E. Lockwood, G. Pickering, O. T. Baigont and J. Delahunty. Tho~auditors. Rev. H. Cottom and Mr J. W. McEwan, received the thanks of the meeting. The following resolution, moved by Rev. J. J. Lewis, was unanimously passed: ‘'That this meeting of members of the Hutt Electorate No-License League strongly protests against the proposal to rescind the resolution passed by the Hntt Park committee prohibiting tho sal© of intoxicants within the park, and desires to thank tho committee for the stand previously taken by them on this important matter." A resolution conveying the thanks of the meeting to past officers concluded the meeting.
