SCARCITY OF LABOUR
Special to the “Times.” WANGANUI, February 3. Tho scarcity of unskilled labour is still acute in tho country districts. In his report to tho Waitotara County Council this morning tho engineer stated that there wore employed on the roads of tho county 61 men, whereas there is work for about 200 men.. Ho also stated that tho prices of contracts were higher this year than he had ever known them; bub tho class of work was better.
