INCEJEASES IN SHEEP AND HOLSTEIN CLASSES. Press Association. PAHIATUA, January 81. The fourth annual show of tho Pahia-tua-Akicio A. and x . Association, which was held to-day, was marred by unfavourable weather, and there was a heavy steady downpour, accompanied by driving ivind, throughout the morning, but at noon the weather cleared, and a tine afternoon resulted. Considering the bad weather during the morning there was a good attendance, 'lire quality of stock exhibited generally was a decided improvement on the display made last year, thongh some of the classes did not attract strong competition. The principal increases were in sheep and Holsteins, in which classes some really fine animals were exhibited. In draught horses Bolton and C. Avery wore the principal prizetakere. The championships in cattle were awarded as follow: —Jersey bull. It. H. Hughes. Pahiatua; Holstein hull, J. Hart, of Itaumati, Dannevirke; Holstein cow, M. CPConnor of Pahiatua. In the" dairy classes M. Alpass and 11. Hughes, all of Pahiatua, secured the principal honours. In the sheep classes O. Avery took the chief prizes; other winners of first awards were it. Haliburton and H. It. Wilton, and in. fats V. Eodney and W. H. Eule. The ring competitions showed a big increase in entries, and a capital afternoon's sport was furnished.
