LEFT BOAT HARBOUR IN SAILING | BOAT. | Richard Attew Webb, married, residing in Sutherland road, at the back of Newtown Park, has been reported to the police as missing. It appears that about half past 10 on Wednesday morning, Webb left the Clyde quay .boat harbour for a sail in a boat which ,he owned. Since then he has not been seen. Hie craft was an 18-ft clinker built half-decked sailer, painted white. Webb, who was sixty-five years of age, is described as- being sft sin in height, of thick-set build, and has a grey beard. When ho set out on Wednesday, Webb was wearing moleskin trousers, a flannel shirt, dark coat, black boots, and a hard felt hat. The first intimation the police had of tho man’s disappearance was at 7.30 c clock on Thursday night, when the matter was reported to the Wellington South station. A mounted trooper has searched the beach round the harbour, and a warning was given to tho Royal N.Z. Artillery to examine the shores of Evan: Bay, close to the forts, for any traces of a boat, or a body. Up till a late hour last evening, however, nothing had been received by tbe police which would give a clue as to Webb’s fate. On Wednesday a blustering northerly wind blew across th© harbour, raising a rather rough sea. Tho chances aro that Webb has been lost.
