Special to the “Times.” FEILDIXG, January 27. During a violent thunderstorm this afternoon, lightning set lire to a hedge at tho residence of Mr A. Williamson, endangering tho house. Fortunately the outbreak was no ticed and was extinguished with buckets of water after spreading almost to tho building. CHRISTCHURCH, January 27. A. heavy thunderstorm passed over tho city early to-night, and a deluge of rain fell and continued throughout the evening. Many localities were flooded.
