The Misses O’Leary, of Auckland, are making a short stay in Wellington. Miss Maginnity, of Nelson, who arrived on Saturday, is staying at Balmoral. Tho Mayoress, Mrs McLaren, returned irom the south on Saturday. Mrs Gore in the guest of her daughter, Mrs George Tripe.

Mrs Izard (Wanganui) and her children, are expected at Balmoral to-day. Mrs Moore, wife of Dr Moore, Auckland, who has been staying in Weßington. loft for home on Saturday. Mr Gcorgo’s pretty house and garden at Kolburuo, have been taken by Colonel and Mrs Knox.

Miss Tanner, who has been spending part of the holidays at Woodville, returns to-day to Balmoral. Mr and Mrs Stono-Wigg (Wairarapa), with their family, are staying at Island Bay House. Mrs R. J. Collins and Miss Eveline Collins have gone on a three weeks' trip to Rotorua and Auckland.

Alisa Fanny Sealey, who since her return from England has been visiting in .Nelson, arrives to-day, and will stay at .Balmoral. The engagement is announced of Miss Mabel Shand, third daughter of Professor and Mrs Shand, Dunedin, to Mr George McLean, of Pitt street, Dunedin, second son of the late Mr James McLean. Miss Wrench accompanied her brother, Air EVelyn Wrench, to Masterton yesterday. Both are much pleased with the result of their visit to Wellington and the amount of business got through at the conference last week.

Mr and Mrs Card and family ston), Mr and Mrs A, C. Burns and family (-Carterton), and the Qiev. Mr Woodward, Mrs Woodward and family, of Foxton, are among the guests at Island Bay House. Miss Dorothy Brunton, Mrs Brunton, Mies Eow, Mr Charles Albert, Mr Edmund Scherras, Mr Outrun, and Mr Kenneth Stewart.
