HOCK KEYS DEFEATED. (Received January 26, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 26. Hock Keys gave in to Picato' at the end of twelve rounds. JIM SULLIVAN. LONDON, January 25. Jim Sullivan, cx-middle-weight champion of England, will sail by the Osterley under engagement to ‘'Snowy’ Baker, the new proprietor of the Sydney Stadium.
Sullivan, who will be twenty-seven years of age nest June, won the championship of England from Tom Thomas on November 14th, 1910. He was defeated in nine rounds in London on June Sth, 1911, bythe well-known American middle-weight. Hilly Papke, and seven months later met one famous Frenchman, George Carpentier, at Monte Carlo, for the championship, of Europe. Sullivan was knocked out in the second round. On May 20th, 1912, Sullivan met Harrison for the English championship and was defeated on points. Ho then went into retirement, announcing that he had been in ill-health for some time and that he had decided to retire from the. game. The recent efforts which have been made by promoters to secure his services have apparently been responsible for his change of mind. English authorities regard Sullivan as a highly scientific boxer.
