SULTAN’S STATEMENT
GOVERNMENT MUST BE IN EXPERIENCED HANDS. FIGHTING AT TURKISH CAPITAL. Kiamil Pasha then wrote his resignation, and handed it to Enver Bey, who drove to the palace with it. The Sultan was incredulous, and sent the Chamberlain and First Secretary to inquire. Kiamil Pasha admitted to them that he had resigned. ■ The Sultan then summoned ShevkctPasha, and told him that it was necessary to placo the government of the country in experienced hands, concluding, “ I perceive you possess experienced hands.”
Enver Bey has been appointed Commandant of tlie Palace. Another Constantinople message saya that there is great excitement there, and there has been some fighting in which a dozen men were -wounded. .Many arrests were made. The Turkish Embassy has received a message from Constantinople that all is quiot.
