BARRY WILL ROW PEARCE FIRST. MAY RETIRE AT END OF YEAR. SYDNEY, January 24. Barry cables that Pearce’s challenge has not lapsed. The articles will be signed immediately Pearce arrives, thus observing tho same procedure as in the last races with Arnst and Durnan. If ho beats Pearce, Barry is willing to meet Arnst in September, but the race must be in England. There is a possibility of Barry retiring at the end of the year.
