J. M. TAYLOR’S SHARK REPORT. Wellington, December 10, 1879.

There is no improvement in the demand for shares for investment, and quotations remain nominally at last week’s rates. The adjourned general meeting of the Golden Point Mining Company (Limited), was held on the 10th instant at Mr. Wallace’s room, Mr. Stevenson in the chair. The half-yearly report to September 30th, 1879, was read by Mr. Hickson, the manager, from which it appeared that there had a total expenditure of £3OB 9s lOd, and that the company then owed £2451 2 s lid additional. An amendment to the adoptiol of the report was moved, but it was found that only three of the shareholders present holding promoters’ paid up shares were entitled to vote, the remainder not having paid their calls. These three voted the adoption of the report, and also carried a resolution’empowering the directors to sell the 1807 unallotcd shares held in trust by the company, as well as 785 shares forfeited at a price not below par. The report of the mining manager showed that the result of the recent crushing gave half an ounce to the ton, but the manager was unable to give an estimate of the cost of bringing the crushing stuff to grass. The delay in the crushing arose from an accident to the boiler, involving further expenditure, in addition to average current expenses of £2OO per month.
