An auction sale was held yesterdayat the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's stores. Custom House-quay, which was numerously attended, and tho biddings throughout were marked by great spirit. Uetween 50 and CO bales of wool and about 700 sheepskins were offered, and the whole was disponed of at rates which display a decided improvement upon recent sales. The highest price obtained for groasy crossbred wool was Sd per lb. and the lowest o§u* per lb ; locks and pieces fetched from Ijd to 3sd; and sheepskins ranged from 4Jd to s£d per lb.
