NEGLECTED CHILDREN.
(PER PRESS AGENCY.) Dunedin, Friday. A case of hearfclessness on the part of parents came before the Police Court to-day. Seven children named Preston, the eldest aged twelve, were charged by the police with being neglected. The evidence showed that the mother was in the hospital, and the father spent his entire earnings in drink, leaving his family wholly dependent on the neighbors’ charity. The Bench committed the children to an industrial school for a lengthened term. The children appeared in Court almost destitute of clothing.
