OPENING OP THE WOOL SALES.
TEN TO FIFTKKN PER CENT. ADVANCE IN PRICES. (REUTER’S TELEGRAMS./ London, November 18. The new series of colonial wool auction sales was opened to-day. The quantity catalogued was 73,000 bales, and the tone of the sale was very active. Australian merinos showed 10 per cent., and cross-breds 15 per cent, advance. Sales close on the 9th December. Rome, November 18. The Ministry has resigned. Constantinople, November 18. Baker Pasha has been appointed to inaugurate the promised reforms throughout Asia. Stdnbt, Thursday. Arrived—-Wakatipu. Sailed—Rotomahaua. Passenger for Wellington—Dr. Hector. Mr. Webster represents New Zealand at the Sydney Exhibition, At the inquest yesterday on the two bushrangers shot in the late struggle, witnesses identified the bodies as those of Nesbitt, an old Pentridge prisoner, and Wrenckie, aged 19, the son of an hotelkeeper in Melbourne. The prisoners are Bennett, Bogan, Lyon and Moonlite.
