She is advertised to return again to the same norts at 4 p.m. The steamer Knia left Lyttelton at (5.15 p.m. on Tuesday, reached K ukonra at 4 a.m. yesterday, sailed again at 0,20. and arrived in harbor at 7 o’clock last evening. The Hula leaves for Foxton at 2 o’clock this aft moon. The Union Company's steamer Hawea Is duo here to-rnorrow morning. She leaves for .Southern p:-rts during the afternoon. The schooners Aurora and Manninn cleared at the Customs yesterday, the former for the Last Coast and the latter for Kaipara. The Union Company's .steamer Taiaroa left Port Chalmers at 1.45 p.m. on the 10th, reached Lyttelton at S a.»n, on the 11th, took the Suez mail on board at the latter port, ami sailed for Wellington at 3.30 p.m., arriving alongside tho wharf at 7.20 a.m. yesterday. She leaves for Picton and Nelson at 3 o’clock this afternoon. The Government steamer Hinemoa left Lyttelton at 8.50 p.m. on Tuesday, and arrived in harbor at .12.30 p.m. yesterday. She sailed again last night for Lyttelton, for the purpose of bringing his Excellency tiie Governor on to Wellington. Tho Union Company’s steamer Waitakl arrived from Picton and Nelson at 7.39 a.m. yesterday. She sailed again at 2 o’clock in the afternoon for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. The steamer Patea got away for Patea yesterday forenoon. Tho steamer Tui should arrive this morning from Wanganui. She returns to the same port at 2 o’clock in tho afternoon. The Union Company’s steamer Arawata. from Melbourne via Southern ports, will arrive in harbor early this morning. She leaves for Nelson on Saturday, returning to port on Monday morning. The steamer Manawatu left for 'Wanganui yesterday evening. Intelligence has been received by tho agent of the P. and O. Company in Melbourne of tho total wreck off Madras of tho P. and O. Company’s fine steamer llindostan. bonml from Sue;: to Calcutta, with mails. &c- The llindostan was a vessel of more than 3000 tons register, and was one of the fastest and handsomest ships in the I*, and O, fleet- She was built in 1839 by Messrs. C. and A. Day and Co., of .Southampton, and had recently been fitted with new engines and boilers. This is tho first loss sustained by the P, and O. Company since the wreck of the Rangoon in 1871. No particulars of the catastrophe are yet to hand. We may state, however, that tho loss of the llindostan does not in any way affect the Australian mail service.
