The directory of the General Government in the various provincial districts contains a list of Supreme and District Court Judges, Sheriffs, Crown Solicitors and Prosecutors, Resident Magistrates, Justices of the Peace, Clerks of District Courts, Coroners, Returning Officers, Foreign Consuls, Ac., Ac, Ac. City Directory. —To ensure accuracy every street and thoroughfare is being canvassed from house to house. Country Directory. —Different persons in different districts have undertaken this work, and every effort is being made to secure accuracy. Farm and Garden. —Comprehensive gardeners’ calendar ; botanical names of English grasses ; number of plants required to an acre; how to sow seeds of various kinds ; gerraiuation of agricultural, vegetable, and flower seeds; hints on forming and laying out gardens, grafting, manuring, planting and sowing, greenhouses, weighing hay or cattle, Ac. Valuable, with most explicit instructions. Wills. —Under this heading will bo found some useful hints, with a form of will which may be used to avoid the evils of intestacy ; also particulars concerning probate and administration. Postal. The postal information comprises a list of the Wellington country post offices and postmasters ; the day and hour of mails closing for country districts ; information regarding the delivery of letters, letters unclaimed, registered letters, sailors’ and soldiers' do, and rates of postage beyond the colony ; post card-, newspaper, bonk post, pattern and sample post, articles not allowed to go through the post, So. ; particulars concerning Post Office Savings Bank : list of money order offices throughout the colony, and commission charged on money orders for various amounts. Telegraphic. —The regulations of the telegraph are given in full, with a list of stations in New Zealand, Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, and Tasmania ; examples, giving the wording aud charging of telegrams to Australia and London are added ; also particulars regarding urgent, delayed, stamped, and weather telegrams. Customs Duties, Custom House tables, and information as to passing entries. Astronomical. —Ephemeris, eclipses,chrouological notes, Ac., for 1880. Legal.— Table of fees payable in Supreme, District, and Resident Magistrate’s Courts, date of circuit sittings, sittings in bankruptcy, in banco, and in chambers, holidays aud vacations, Court officials. Public Institutions, Societies, Ac. —This comprises a list of banks, shipping, and insurance companies: loan, land, and building societies; Masonic, Odd Fellows, Foresters, Shepherds, Good Templar, and Reohabite Lodges ; churches of all denominations, and the various associations, societies, clubs, Ac., in the city. The office-bearers in connection with each are also given. Government Offices. —A directory, carefully corrected, is given of the occupiers of the various rooms on each floor. Statistics.
