CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —Will you allow me to correct a report that appeared iu your issue of the 22ud inst. with regard to Mr. Page, the railway guard, having been attacked by the lunatic Philip Wagland, which was vice versa, the lunatic being attacked by the guard. It was by the lunatic’s brother that the guard received the “pummelling.” Mr. Waglaud was in charge, inside the carriage ; the policeman being outside guarding the door, at the request of tbe brother, as the patient was very quiet and inoffensive. Had Mr. Page been a sensible man he would never have entered the carriage, and ought to be thankful that something more serious did not happen ; at all events this ought to be a lesson to him. Hoping you will give publicity to this, in justice to Philip Wagland,—l am, &c., H.S.W. Greytown, Oct 23.
