CHORAL SOCIETY’S CONCERT.
A very successful concert was held last night at the Theatre Royal under the auspices of the above society. Pressure on our space preveuta us from doing justice to the entertainment, but we may mention that the dress circle was crowded, and the stalls well filled. Under Mr, F»rrest’s able direction a very excellent programme was provided, including the operetta of “ The May Queen," by Sir W. S. Bennett ; selections from “Lohengrin”; a market chorus from “ Masaniello,” &c. “ A Father’s Love,” given by Mr. Laing, and one called “ Peacefully Slumber,” sung by Miss Randall, were much admired; and Mr. Forrest’s rendering of a concert stiick by Weber was quite a masterpiece. We sincerely hope that the concert may be repeated.
