MEETINGS OF CREDITORS.
A meeting of creditors of John Angel Honguez, storekeeper, Halcombe, was held at the Supreme Court yesterday, Mr. P. Moeller in the chair. Liabilities were set down at £792 18s., and assets, including several leasehold and freehold properties, £2555. Mr. Edward Anderson was appointed trustee, and a supervisor will be appointed by the trustee to carry on the debtor’s business for the benefit of the creditors. A meeting of creditors in the estate of G. M. Summerfieid, tailor, was held on Wednesday afternoon, to consider an application for discharge made by the debtor. Mr. J. E. Nathan, trustee, occupied the chair, and presented an account of his transactions as trustee. The statament showed—Receipts, £133 2s. Bd.; and disbursements, dividend of 2s. 6d. in the pound, £125 15s. 2d., leaving a balance of £7 7s. 6d. in hand. Of this sum, £3 18s. 7d. was owing for advertisements. The debtor was examined at some length, the creditors desiring to ascertain how it was that in a few months his liabilities had exceeded his assets by £4OO. The debtor explained that this was in consequence of his shop fittings costing him so much. This answer was not considered satisfactory, and it was resolved, on the motion of Mr. Brown, and seconded by Mr. Gardner, —That the debtor’s certificate he suspended for three years.
