DUNEDIN, Thursday. Fat Cattle—2o3 came forward, about half being good to prime, the balance medium to inferior. A slight reduction on last week's rates took place; prime beef at fully 30s per 1001 b ; medium, 25s to 27s 6d. Fat Sheep—264l were penned, honsisling of merinos and crossbreds. They fetched, from 11s 6d to 14s 6d ; inferior and medium do, 6s * B o 10s 6d: best merinos, 7s 9d; small ewes, in medium condition, 6s Sd to 5s 0d : mutton, 2Jd perlb„ 'sheepskins(butchers’), crossbreds fetched from 2s Pd to 3s 6d ; do merinos. 2a 6d to 2a 7d; full " outhe'h merinos, 4s 4d. Hides are in fair demand, and # b he market is firm at 2Jdperlb. Grain—Tho news from Horae and the other colonies continues unsatisfactory. There is no disposition on tho part of buyers to speculate. In oats there is no improvement in prices; good feed are saleable at 2s ; milling, 2s 2d to 2s 3d. For barley there are no inquiries; samples of good malting arc scarce, and could bo placed at from 5s to 5s Cd for first class.
