ELECTION DODGES AT KAIKOURA.
(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Kaikodra, Monday. Some four or five politicians at Kaikoura, who are not electors, and not members of the temperance society, have lately opened telegraphic communication with Sir George Grey, and are showing with great pride the grateful telegrams they have received from the Premier. He regrets that press of business must prevent his visiting the Kaikoura himself, but “if possible,” he will send them a suitable candidate to wrest the Cheviot seat from that ultra-Con-servative, Mr, Saunders, and thus secure another triumph to the “ great Liberal cause.”
