The amount of Customs duties collected at thlf, port on Saturday was as under;—
BY 2ELRGRAPH. DUNEDIN-. Saturday. Wheat has been in good demand during the week. Late telegrams from London and Australia, have no effect on the price here, holders being quite firm. Prime Southern commands 4s 6d to 4s Sd, vory choice; inferior to medium, 4s 4d ; fowls' wheat. 3s 3d to 3s Gd. Oats, feeding, soil at 2s to 2s Id; milling, 2s2d to 2s 3d, market quiet. Seeds in good demand—tartarian at 2s 3d, 2s 4d, to 2s Gd; very choice Canadian and Danish, 2s 6d. 1 otatoes are In short supply this* week, and the market, which had receded to £5, i»looking up: holders demand £5 ss, at which we have mad* small sale : fine seed is inquired for ; early kid** ne*s are very scarce at £9; Irish cups, £7; Derweaf*. £6. Prime butter is scarce at Is; cheese quiet; 7d to 7id : bams. Sd toDd. Bacon pigs are getting scarcer, saleable weights sd. Banks—New Zealand/ £lB to £lB 5s ; National, 62s 6d; Colonial, 40s, arm div.; Insurance Companies—Union, 11s Gd to If is* National, 20s to 225; South British, 50s; Standard, 1 3s' Colonial. 4s. Miscellaneous—Mosgiel Woollen 7 factory, 58s to 60s: Cromwell Quartz Mining. 455; ’Welcome Quartz Mining (Reefton), 35s ; New Z& dand Shipping Company, 70s.
