LONDON MARKETS.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report, under date London, August 13 :—The wool sales opened on the 12th iust. The sales comprise about 311,000 bales, of which 22,000 bales have been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. There is a moderate competition on German account, but the market for superior washed combing kinds is unchanged. Coarse cross-bred has declined )jd. to Id. Lambs’ wool is easier. Trade in the manufacturing districts is unchanged. The wheat market is quiet. Adelaide is worth 495.; New Zealand, 48s. per quarter. The tallow market is firm. Best mutton, !3s. Gd.; beef, 31s. Od. The leather market is firm, the trade de maud being good, and best sides fetch 9^d.
