(From the Auckland Free Lance.) (Respectfully dedicated to Musical Johnny, -who can ring a good song to an old tune.) . Tho “auld man ’’down at Wellington Ha? played his little game. And made tho great “ Mir Hercules" A stepping stone to fame. But take a chlel’s advice, guide man : You’so yet a wierd to dree; And do not tempt the Fates again,— You'd better “ bide a wee." It answered well, in by-gono years. To kiss folks-old and young— To call tba babies “ pretty dears,” With glibly flatter!: g tongue. But now you're getting auld “ guide man Your ’’ little game" we see, ■ ( They’ll not be ki sed by “ grey beard loon You’d better “ bide a wee,” Retire to Hawaii's s icred shade. You'll find a welcome there, Which,, sad to slate, most people think You will not get elsewhere. ■ And do not stump the country yet. Or you the sense may see Of canny Scottie’s kind advice— Think twice, and ” bide a wee.’’ ’
