JOINT MEETING OF THE WELLINGTON AND ATHLETIC FOOTBALL CLUBS.

A meeting of the above clubs was held at Mr. Ames’ Star Hotel last night. There was a large attendance, Mr. A. Campbell in the chair. It was agreed, on the motion of Mr. Campbell, that the original motion in re Bell should bo given effect to. We understand that the motion was to the effect that a sum of £lO be granted to Mr. Bell as a contribution towards defraying the cost of the medical assistance required by him as a result of the accident. The following programme was arranged ; May 3, scratch match j May 10, Civil Service v. Town; May 17, College (scratch); May 21,. Keform; May 31, scratch; June 7, Wellington v. Athletic; Juno 14, scratch ; June 21, Eefnrm; June 28, Civil Service v. Town. The following gentlemen were elected as a Match Committee:—Messrs. Bate, G. Campbell, A. Campbell, and Thompson. The secretary was instructed to write to Mr. Buchanan, asking him what he would be willing to take for the use of the ground during the season. The consideration of the question in connection with the Rugby Union Association rules was deferred.
