Mr. Goodfellow, the Australian Amateur Champion, purposes running in the 100, 150, and 300yds. races, starting from scratch; and in the event of his winning, the prize will be given to the second man. Mr. J. MacDonald, the Canadian 1-mile runner, will compete in the j and I mile races, starting from scratch; and in the event of his winning, the prize will be given to the second man. Experienced gentlemen, well-known in athletic circles, will be appointed to act as judges, handicappers, referees, starters, &c.; and their decision in all cases will be final. Wellington Gold Cup. —A Gold Cup, value 100 so vp, presented by the Club, with 500 fovs added ; second horse to receive 50 sovs from the stakes. Two miles. The winner of any handicap race of the value of 200 sovs, after declaration of weights, to carry 71b. extra ; of two or more such races, 101 b.; of any handicap race of the value of 100 sovs, to carry 51b. extra ; of two or more such races, 81b. extra. Final 7 sovs to be paid on night of general entry, Monday, 27th January. Hutt Park Stakes, of 50-sovs ; one mile. Hack Race, of 10 sovs ; one mile and a distance. half. Hack Eace, of 10 sovs ; one mile and a distance. Fees Handicap, of 50 sovs ; five furlongs ; winner of Kacing Club Handicap to carry 71bs. extra. Empire Plate, of 100 sovs ; entrance 5 sovs ; ■weight for age ; second horse to receive 25 sovs from the stakes ; one mile and a quarter. For all horses owned six months previous to the race by bona fide settlers of the Provincial District of Wellington. Consolation Handicap, of 50 sovs; one mile.
