(REUTER'S TELESXjiMS J London, January 20. Advices from the Cape state that the Zulu king, Cetewayo, has assented to some of the demands made by the British Government, but asked for time to consider others. The Governor positively refuses to accede to the request, and is massing troops on the frontier. Further advices from the Cape report that Cetewayo is massing forces in large numbers. There appears to be little hope of averting war. Pabis, January 20. In consequence of a compromise between the Ministry and the Republican leaders, the Chamber of Deputies passed a vote of confidence in the Ministry by a large majority.
