The amount of- Customs duties received at this port for tho week ending November 23,1878, are as follows
Very little business has been doing during tho post week, la consequence of the excitement of electioneering matters ; nor is there any material change In the quotations for imported goods calling for comment. In colonial produce, keg butter is quite neglected, and although nominally quoted at Sd per lb, we bear of no sales at that figure. Bacon and bams are in moderate supply at 8d to B}d per lb (Canterbury euro). Cheese dull, at 8d to Bjd per lb. Flour is overstocked, and best brands of Canterbury and Oamaru mills are almost impossible to place except In retail lota, at £lO to £lolos per ton ;wo hear of sales at £olss per ton.
