WASTE LANDS BOARD.
This body met yesterday. Present: Messrs. J. G. Holdsworth (Chief Commissioner), in the chair, W. W. Johnston, H, Bunny, and Thos. Mason. The minutes of the previous meeting having been read and confirmed,The schedule of lands sold since last meeting was read and approved. It contained but one item, No. 5561, {Charles Plummer Powles, 37 perches, Wanganui District, Campbelltown; price £7O. A letter from Edward Tomlinson, dated Nov. 21, was read. The writer requested an extension of time for making improvements on his section in the XCiwitea Block, held under the deferred payment regulations. It was resolved that decision in the matter should be deferred until the report of the inspector bad been received. The Chairman reported that the Government hud expressed its willingness to give effect to the proposed expenditure of £2500 on the Huuterville-road, in the Pamekaretu Block, on the receipt of a like sum from persons interested in the road in question. The Board then adjourned.
