Mr. Alexander Saunders* reports :—Sellers : Bank of New Zealand, £23 10s ; Colonial Bank,. 655; National Bank, 78s; New Zealand Insurance, 85i; Colonial Insurance, Cs ; South British Insurance, 675; National Insurance, 27s 6d; Guthrie and Laruach, 935; Sash and Door, £lO ss; Auckland Gas, £lO ss; Loan and Mercantile, £5 17s Od; Alburnia, 255; Beauty, 4s; Kurunni Hill, 8s Cd. (VE.ll PRESS AGENCY). TIiMARU, Saturday. Wheat is slowly hardening, farmers not inclined to dispose of last season’s stocks; 4s 3d has been obtained by one merchant for a large parcel, but 3s XOd Is the nominal price between farmers and merchants; oats aie in strong demand at 3s 10cl to 4s 2d; and 5s Od to 6s has been freely offered for prime malting barley. INVERCARGILL, Friday. , Business has improved a little during tho week, but ; prices are much tho same as last reported. Oats have advanced slightly, and are now in excess of the demand; wheat, good milling, commands 4s 6d, and feed 4s 9d; chaff, scarce at £7 to £8; oatmeal, £l9; wheat, full supply ; a small and very superior parcel realised 4s Bd. but tho general quotations are 4s 4d for prime milling to 3s Gd for fowls feed; flour, £1010s; pollard, £G; bran, £5 10s; potatoes, £7 to £7 10s.
