She arrived off the Heads at 6 yesterday morning, when the wind came down from the north-west, and she beat in as above. The schooner Seabird, a fine-looking craft of 155 tons, arrived in harbor yesterday forenoon, and hauled In to the Queen's wharf. She brings a full cargo of colonial produce. She left.Oamaru at midnight ou Saturday, with light easterly weather. Was off Banka Peninsula on Monday, and experienced a continuation of light easterly and north-easterly weather until nearing the Heads, when she was met by a northwester, and she beat np tho harbor as above. The Rangatira does not leave until tins evening at fi o’clock. Tho steamer Rotorua, from the South, is due here f this morning. She leaves for Sydney via Napier and Auckland during the afternoon, taking the outwardTrisco mail for transhipment at Auckland. • - The steamer Samson, just purchased by tho West Wanganui Coal Company, will make a trial trip today. The steamer leaves the wharf at half-past two o'clock sharp. The shareholders in the company are Invited. The steamer Tararua, from Melbourne, Hobarton, and the South, arrived at the wharf yesterday morning at 10 o’clock. She left Melbourne on the 30th ult., at 11 a.m.; experienced fresh head winds and fine weather. Arrived at Hobarton at 8 next morning; loft at 7 p.m., and experienced strong head winds for tho first two days, and fine weather until arrival at the Bluff, at 2 p.m. on the sth ; she left attain the same night, and arrived at Port Chalmers early on the 6th ; loft that evening, and arrive I at Lyttelton on the 7th ; left there at 6 o’clock on Thursday evening, and arrived hero os above. She left again for Melbourne via tho West Coast during the evening. Tho barque Australlnd, from Newcastle, was signalled yesterday at midday as being at the Heads, and daring the afternoon she beat up the harbor against a wholesail breeze from the north-west. She left Newcastle on the 29th ult., with light northerly winds ; fine weather was experienced across, making Cape Farewell on Thursday afternoon, and arriving as above. She will come alongside the wharf to-day. The brig Robin Hood, from Newcastle, coal laden, arrived in harbor yesterday evening, having made the . smartest passage of the fleet this month. She left on the 31st tut., and experienced favorable weather and light winds the whole way across ; made Cape Farewell on the afternoon of the 7th, and from thence experienced strong westerly winds. She beat up tho narbor and came to anchor at 8 p.m.
