Sir, — Can you tell me' whether it is true that arrangements have already hfieri made for the purchase of the land required for the construction of the Tapauui aud Waipahi railway? If so, can you toll me when such arrangements were made, under what authority the arrangements were made, and by whom ! Who appointed the agents to deal with the laud, owners ; who paid the landowners, and how were the agents paid for their trouble ?—I am, <tc., An Enquirer. Tapanui, October 5.
