The schooner Ruby arrived at Kaikoura from Wel- ♦ lingbm at 6 o’clock yesterday morning. The steamer Ladybird, for Timaru and Dunedin, left at midday yesterday, and the Wellington, for XMcton and Nelson, left shortly afterwards. She only came off the Slip in the morning, having undergone a thorough overhaul. The steamer Taranaki, from Onehunga via New Plymouth and Nelson, is dne here this morning. She leaves again for the South the same day. The Wanganui trader Manawatu arrived, in harbor at 8.45 a.m. yesterday. She crossed the Wanganui bar on Wednesday night at D o’clock. The old Oaraaru and Dunedjn,steamer Samson arrived in harbor from. Waitara late on Tuesday night. She left Waitara at 0 p.m. the same night. We understand that.the Samson, after being laldnp, is to go into the Wanganui trade. Tb* steamer Glenelg, which lately arrived from Adelaide for tho purpose of acting as a tender to the stranded vessel Hyderabad, arrived In harbor yesterday afternoon from the scene of the week with the ketch Forest Queen in to w. We learn that tho ketch has on board one Urge railway carriage and a quantity of axles, frames, and When the Glenelg was there tho water was quito smooth, and the ketch was able to. lie alongside the ship. As there was every appearance of-* breeze setting in the master of the Glenelg wished to lay out tbo big anchor and cable which ho took down for the purpose of steadying tho vciacl, but ho could not get the hands on board tho Hyderabad to work at night, although £1 a man was offered- There are 150 tons of Cargo safely landed on tho beach, which will be taken to tho Manawatu River, and loaded thoro.
