The sea broke aboard, stove In the port boats, started the bulwarks, and severely injured two men. The Augusta spoke the Dartmouth, bound from London to Auckland, on June 28, in latitude 85*64, north ; latitude, 18.35, west. AU well. The Merchant Shipping and Underwriters' Association telegraph under data London, September 3 : Arrived: Ship Laju, from Lyttelton. The following vessels were in harbor last night : Stearacre-Stella,Albion, Kennedy, and Kiwi; ships —Abeona, Medea, and Zeriandia; barques—Chasca, Whittington, G. M. Tucker, Anno Molhuish, New - Brunswick, and Kvlk. . The Ranaatlia, from Napier and Poverty Bay, and the Stormbird, from Wanganui, are both due hero to-morrow. Too following is a summary of tho cargo of the barque Chasca, for London:—o47 bales wool, 278 pockets do, 1 bag do, 101 bevies skins, 156 cases tallow, 1267 csks do, 15 cases shells (4 tons), 4C bales leather, 71 pockets do, 10 pkgs sundries, C bales glue, 455 cases moat, 8 tons bones, IG3 pkgs paper. The Chasca will probably leave on Monday or Tuesday. Messrs. McMeckan and Blackwood’s fine steamer Albion, from Melbourne via the South, arrived in harbor at 8 o’clock yesterday morning. She left Melbourne wharf at I*4o p.ra. on the 29th, and expo-, rioaced fresh north-west and south-west winds till arrival at the Blnff at noon on tho 3rd instant; left at 6.50 p m. on same day, and arrived at Port Chalmers nt 6.50 a.m. on the 4th: left at 3.45 p.m. same day, arriving at Lyttelton at 10.50 a.m. on the otb; left at 4.40 p.ra.. and arrived at Wellington as above. She sails for Melbourne via the South again on Sunday. We thank. Mr. Gibbons, her purser, for flies and report. ' - The steamer Rotorua, from Sydney via Auckland and Napier, is due here to-day. She sails again for the South at midnight. The steamer Wellington, from Picton and Nelson, will arrive In harbor early to-morrow morning.
The barque ‘Whittington, which sailed on Thursday ■ evening, only got as far as Woraer Bay, where she brought up for the night. She got away yesterday, and was soon cut of sight of land. The line new brigantine Aratapu, from Kalpara with a cargo of sawn timber, arrived In harbor at 10 yesterday morning. She crossed Kaipara bar on Wednesday lost, and made a splendid run of 43 hours. She reports the Hannah Broomfield loaded and ready to sail .for here. The Aratapu commenced discharging immediately she came along' side. ( The clipper schooner Pioneer, from Adelaide, arrived in harbor yesterday morning. She left Adelaide on the 24th, and experienced fine weather until arriving off the coast, when she encountered a succession of northerly galea. She brings a lull cargo of flour .and bark. She will commence discharging to-day. The tTnxon Company's steamer Taranaki arrived here at 10.30 yesterday morning. She left Port Chalmers on Wednesday at C p.m., and arrived at Lyttelton the following morning at 11; left again at 7 p.m., and arrived as above. Fine weather was experienced throughout. She reports having seen four barques and three brigs in the Strait. The steamer Kennedy, from the West Coast and Nebon, arrived at the wharf at 0 o’clock yesterday morning. She left Nelson at 9.30 on Thursday night, called at D'Urville Island and landed six passengers. The Kennedy returns to the West Coast again to-day. The Kiwi, from Napier and Castlepoint, arrived at an early hour yesterday morning. She left the former port last Tuesday, and experienced strong north-west winds along the coast. She left for Flaxboorne again last night.
