TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sin, —The mania for selling public reserves appears J still to be remnant. notwithstanding the repeated warnings that are given and protests made. ' There aro two Bills before Parliament—one to authorise the sale of a portion of Mount Cook Barracks Reserve, the other the sale of the Hospital reserves. As regards Mount Cook Barrack Reserve, the value of it for a public domain for the To An end of the city cannot be over estimated, and if the inhabitants aro wise they will protest against the action of the Government. Under no circumstances should this beautiful site bo interfered with. Who ever conceived the idea of selling it by public auction was no friend to tho city and the welfare of its inhabitants.—X am. &c., Annus.
