The Melbourne Teleyrapk of the 16th inst, has the following particulars respecting the Japanese commissioners, whose advent to Australia is creating considerable interest: —The four Japanese commissioners who have for some time been in Sidney arrived in Melbourne on Friday last, and are staying at Menzie'a Hotel, Their' names aro Nagasi, Ywkrvna, Akaha, and Makino. The firstnamed is accredited by the Emperor of Japan to the Governments of Now South Wales and Victoria. The other three gentlemen represent the commercial community of Yeddo. The object of the mission is to open up a direct trade in wool between Japan and the two colonies named. Large warehouses for storing wool have already been built in Yeddo in the full expectation that the advantages offered will induce the opening up of an immediate and extensive trade. The commissioners are all dressed in English costume, and are very quiet and self-possessed in demeanor. Unfortunately, the only one who speaks English is Yokana, but he speaks it with great fluency and purity. Yesterday they were introduced to the Chief Secretary, and visited most of the public offices. To-day they will be the guests of Mr. Blackwood, and will lunch with Mr. Chirnsido.” It is probable that these distinguished foreigners, will visit New Zealand before they return to Japan. PROFESSOR STANICII has made the varlou diseases of the ear, and their cure, the study of his fife, having practised since his youth in Egypt and Palestine. Ho can assert, without fear of contradiction, that hundreds of cases deemed Incurable have yielded to his treatment, and that, in fact, none need despair. The Professor can be consulted daily at his rooms, Occidental Hotel. For testimonials see the local, papers, or apply personally. — [Advt.]
