The amounts of Customs duties received at the port of Wellington for tho week ending the 20th of -Juno, were as under:— £ s. d. £ & d.
The following are the duties collected at the Customs yesterday •
Tranwictlons during the past week haw> been unimportant, and accompanied by no changes in quotations. Although there must be a considerable amonnt of business doing In the supply ofi both town and country dealers, apparent from ths*quantities of goods dcAjatchcd by dray and steamer each week, there Is a general complaint of dullness among the wholesale firms. The news of the floating of the new loan has given rastiers a slight impetus,, but the main cause of the complaint is to be found in the over supply of traders. Most articles of imported goods continue at low quotations, owing co. over competition and large stocks, brandies &r» the only exception, and Hennessy’s case has advanced to 34s Ctl. Adelaide flour continues Arm at £l7 10s, owing to light stocks, in spite of the continued decline in the quotations for Southern brands. Colonial produce remains unaltered in most respects, Uuttcc le dull at fid: Canterbury cheese overstocked, ajul selling at 7d per lb; bacon and hams, new cure, 8d and fid per lb; flour, best Oamaru and Canterbury brands, quoted at £l2 to £l2 IDs for sacks, is privately offered at a lower figure. Grain—Oats firm at Is 3d, and becoming scarce; maize in full supply at (Is to (Is 3d ; bran, is in short supply and wanted at Is 2id per bushel; pollard, £7 to £7 10a per ton; potatoes In full supply at 00a to 75s per ton. BY TBLBQUABII. AUCKLAND, Friday. Mr. Buckland reports Fat cattle, 80s to 35s per lOOibs. For sheep there is no improvement in price—barely 2jd.. <Jood cows, £9 fie £ll 10s. SYDNEY, Friday. I Hennery’s case brandy, 32a ; quarters unchanged. Kerosene, Is Od to Is 93d. Other articles unaltered. - TIM' KIT, Friday. Grain market. —Wheat, 4a; oats, 3s 3d to 3s fid; barley nominal, Ss 3d, 4s OJ, 5s ; 'potatoes, 653. CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The wheat market Is firm but, quiet ; quotations rule from 4s 9d to 4s lOd. Oats, 4s, Barley continues scarce, and worth Bs Cd to 0?. Flour, £l2 to £l3. Bran, £5 fin.- Sharps, £6 0}; the demand is brisk. Potatoes, £3 to £3 fis. Hams and bacon, 7Ad (in cloth). Cheese, Od to 6Jd.
