THE PATUTAHI LAND SALE.

The long talked-of Patutahi land sale took place to-day, and notwithstanding the threatening state of the weather was largely attended. Punctually at noon Mr. Tole ascended the rostrum, and after reading the conditions and stating that his instructions were to ignore all protests, the sale commenced in earnest. The prices realised were simply monstrous, and bidders appeared to be mad. Corner sections in the township—on which, by-the-by, there is not a house—fetched at the rate of £l6O per acre. .
