NORTH-OTAGO COURSING CLUB.
(Mil PRESS AGENCY.) Oamaku, Tuesday. The opening meeting of the North-Otago Coursing Club took place to-day at Awamoa, the estate of the Hon. M. Holmes. The meeting was a great success. There were about 300 spectators on the ground. The following aro the results of the first run :—Mr. J. Stephenson’s black slut Fly beat Mr. T. Brydon’s slut Frolic; Mr. M. Holmes’s black dog Guy beat Mr. E. Menlove’s. black and white j slut Flo ; Mr. P. Mason’s roan dog The Bough beat -Mr. N. Fleming’s hr slut Venus ; Mr. A. G. Paterson’s white dog Spring beat Mr. A. Thomson's white dog Pirate; Mr. E. McAuley’s dog Hamlet beat Mr. A. N. Campbell’s dog Trooper ; Mr. W. Swanson’s br dog Handel beat Mr. G. Greenfield’s Polly ; Mr. G. MoGavin's hr slut Tricolor beat. Mr. W. H. Eonayne’s Lais; Mr. J. D. Kelt’s ,blk slut Queen beat Mr. O, Jennison's white slut. Xu the first ties Fly beat Grey, Spring beat Le Kouge, Ham-
let beat Handel; Queen ran a bye. In the second ties Spring beat Fly, Queen beat Hamlet. In the third ties Mr. J. D. Kelt’s - bl g the Queen beat Mr. A. C. Paterson’s white dog Spring, and won the stakes. .The winners of the prizes were—lst prize, £35, Queen; 2nd prize, £ls, Spring. Two dogs, £6 each, Fly and Hamlet; four dogs, £3 each, Guy, Le Rouge, Handel, and Tricolor.
