TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sin, —Enclosed is a copy of a letter received by me to-day. Will you please publish it for the information of subscribers. —I am, &c., Chas. P. Powles. Wellington, 10th May. “ Indian Famine Belief Fund, “Mansion House, London, E.C., “ March 8, 1878. “ Dear Sir,—l have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 12th January last, enclosing a draft for £291 ss. Id., making, with the two former donations of collected in and about Wellington, New Zealand, in aid of the Indian Famine Belief Fund. The amount arrives most opportunely, as the Mansion House Fund, which has reached the splendid total of £514,000, will be closed this day week. I beg you to express to the. various contributors, and to the Wellington Belief Committee, the sincere thanks of the Committee at the Mansion House, and of myself personally, for their generous aid.—l have, &c., “ Tuos.
